When a producer changes colour, the fiber runs through many shades before the new colour is reached. We buy these colour transitions in large lots: muted, mixed colours at a very sharp price.

Not every colour transition is multicolour. Many of our lots stay within one colour and run from light to dark: greys from almost white to anthracite, blues from light to navy, greens from light to dark.

Sartex N.V. is a family company. Founded in 1985 by Vincent Defrancq, it is run today by his son Olivier. We are based in Kuurne, next to Kortrijk, in the heart of the Belgian textile region. By road we are about 25 km from Lille (France), 45 km from Ghent, 70 km from the port of Zeebrugge and 100 km from the port of Antwerp, with direct motorway access.
We are a European specialist in substandard polypropylene staple fibers, and we also supply polyester. Hundreds of articles are ready to load from our own warehouse of about 1,700 m². Since 1985, customers across Europe have counted on us as a reliable partner.
What does "substandard" mean?
Substandard fibers are good fibers that did not end up in the producer's first-choice range, for example after a colour change, at the start of a production run, or as the rest of a lot or a discontinued colour. In many products, from nonwoven, needlefelt and needle punch carpets to spun yarns, geotextiles, filtration and drainage, they do the job just as well, at a much better price.
We know what we sell
Every bale that comes into our warehouse is sampled, and we measure every article ourselves. So our descriptions show the fiber as it is, not just the original specification. Ask for free samples of the articles you like, then order what you need.
